The Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague, where a student killed 14 people on December 21, has announced that it will remain closed until at least the end of January.

The authorities of the Czech academic body added that they will not force students to take exams at the end of this semester, which ends on January 12, allowing them to postpone their tasks.

The shooter, a 24-year-old student, killed 14 people and wounded 24 others on site before committing suicide.

The tragic incident shocked the nation and prompted the university to take extensive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its students and staff.

Speaking to reporters, University spokesman, Martin Novak, stated, “The decision to keep the Faculty of Arts closed was made in consultation with students, staff, and authorities to prioritize the emotional and psychological recovery of the university community.”

Many students and faculty members have been receiving counseling and support services to help them cope with the trauma of the event.

In the meantime, the police continue to investigate the motives behind the shooter’s actions, with the hope of preventing similar tragedies in the future.

The University has also been in talks with government officials to discuss additional security measures and protocols to prevent such incidents from occurring again.

As the community continues to mourn the lives lost, the Faculty of Arts is focused on providing a supportive environment for its students and staff.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
